Renewable Energy Sources projects for the support of vulnerable social groups and the experiential and environmental education in Municipality of Alexandroupolis

“We support the vulnerable social groups of our city”

The Center of Social Protection, Solidarity, Education and Environment “POLYKOINONIKO”, the Municipality of Alexandroupolis and the “Staurideio” Ecclesiastical Welfare Chronic Disease Foundation “Agios Kyprianos”  implement the project “Development of RES projects for the support of vulnerable social groups and the experiential and environmental education in Municipality of Alexandroupolis”. The project is funded by EEA Grants with total budget of 759.160,91 EUR (EEA Grants funding 85%: 645.286,77 EUR).

The project aims to increase the use of RES technologies and reduce the greenhouse gas emission within the administrative boarders of the Municipality of Alexandroupolis. The interventions will be accomplished in buildings that accommodate social services of the region.

The Financial Mechanism of European Economic Area provides with the opportunity to implement innovative RES projects in Alexandroupolis. The interventions are important for the reduction of energy costs and the improvement of thermal comfort in Nursery school buildings and Open Centers for elderly support.

Project duration: The project duration is from  1st of October 2015 until 30th of April 2017.
